Shatta Wale’s ‘Ghana Is A Village’ Statement Is A Wake Up Call-Tourism Minister Says
Tourism Minister for Ghana, Hon. Catherine Afeku has lately shared her utmost opinion on Shatta Wale’s appalling statement claiming Ghana is a village due to the remote development in the country.
“What the Dancehall musician said is a wake up call.”
Mrs. Catherine further elaborated that she watched Shatta Wale’s London Concert Live so she saw what led to him saying “Ghana is a Village”.
And that Shatta didn’t mean to degrade Ghana but rather call on Ghanaians living abroad to come back home and help develop the country.
“I watched the concert he did in London and Armsterdam on Youtube . There are a lot of diaspora that he was more like you at the environment you live in…look what you left home. Why don’t you come and also build the home that you left?; for me, that was how i interpreted it, Hon. Afeku disclosed in an interview with Andy Dosty on hitz 103.9FM,Accra-based radio station.
Being very positive, I felt that he was making a call to duty for our diaspora…he was not denigrating…but it was a call to action”, the Honorable Minister said.
