Random Act Of Kindness: 6 Year Old Girl Donates Her Savings To Buy Desks For Yikurugu Pupils Who Lie On Their Stomachs To Learn
The report about the challenges of these pupils of Yikurugu D/A primary in the Upper West Region was on Ghone News and the journalist who reported the news, explained how these pupils had to lie on their stomachs every day to learn because of the lack of desks.
Ghone believed that, they could do something about the situation without always having to rely on the government to deal with some of these problems so made arrangements so the general public could donate any amount of money to help buy desks for these children.
Several celebrities like John Dumelo, Yvonne Okoro have all made donations to this course and ordinary Ghanaians have even made donations to help buy desks for these pupils but this kind gesture by a 6-year-old girl has won the heart of the internet.
The 6-year-old girl known as Dorothy and a student of Christ the King school in Accra, made her donation at the premises of Ghone, accompanied by her mother on Wednesday, 7th March, 2018.
The mother of the girl told Ghone News that her daughter was touched after watching the news and wanted to give her savings out to help although she had plans to use it to buy her own stuff. According to the mom, although she asked her that the money be sent via mobile money, her daughter insisted that she wanted to give it in person at the premises.
When Dorothy spoke to Ghone News, she said that, she felt sad when she saw the kids lye on their stomach to write, and so decided to also help by giving her savings.
6 year old Dorothy gave her savings in the value of GH¢196.70p. Now that’s a good gesture and she has been applauded by people on Social media.
