Obrafuor once confronted the CEO Of Chartehouse over an award he thought he should have won – Mark Okraku Mantey reveals

It’s no doubt that VGMA has been condemned for its favouritism and partiality on various events.

Apparently, Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale is not the only artiste who has issues with organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as veteran rapper, Obrafour equally confronted the CEO of Charterhouse Productions Limited, Theresah Ayoade over an award he thought he should have won.

According to the progamme coordinator of Hitz FM and Chief Executive Officer of Slip Entertainment, the action by Obrafour made Theresa Ayoade tried stopping the Ghana Music Awards but rescinded her decision when a vote was cast by the board to keep the award scheme running.

She (Theresa Ayoade) was confronted by Obrafour when he said he was told he had won an award. She wanted to stop. We were in golden tulip. And we had to vote whether to continue or not. The vote for the continuation was more than the against so we had to continue.“, Mark told Andy Dosty.

He further revealed that Mrs. Ayoade nearly dropped the award show on a second time when the show was barraged with protests by patrons as a result of how artistes continued hauling the organiser’s name into the mud.
