Ghana@61 presidential awards postponed

The Ghana @ 61 Independence Day presidential Awards for pupils have been postponed.The event which was suppose to take place on March 5, 2018, has been rescheduled to take place on March 6, 2018, to allow President Nana Akufo-Addo, grace the occasion.

In a media briefing Director of Operations at the Presidency, Lord Commey disclosed that, the ceremony would be held at the Accra International Conference Centre after the March Parade, he added that the president who is currently out of the country directed that, the event be rescheduled so he would be able to attend.

“The event was originally scheduled for the 5th of March, 2018 but the president so keen in wanting to be here and do it himself has asked that the 5th of March President’s Awards be shifted to the 6th of March after the parade. So that program for the awards is shifted from the 5th of March as originally slated for 6th of March from 4:30-6pm and the venue remain unchanged,’’ he sai


Since its inception from 1993, the President’s Independence Day Awards celebrates pupils from each of the ten regions of Ghana, who have performed creditably in their Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).
