Organizers of the annual African Music Industry Awards (AMI) Have announced nominees for the 2018 edition with nine (9) Ghanaians musicians getting the nod in various categories.

This year’s edition of the award ceremony would be held on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Serena Hotel, Kampala – Uganda.

Rapper Sarkodie leads the pack with three nominations: ‘Best Male Western Artist,’ ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Rap.’

Stonebwoy, Samini and Shatta Wale compete in the ‘Best Dancehall artiste‘ category while UK based Gospel musician, Sonnie Badu earned a ‘Best Gospel Male Artiste’ and

Efya and Becca were nominated in the ‘Best Female Western Artiste‘ category.

Late dancehall queen, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng aka Ebony and Medikal will compete for the ‘Best Female Newcomer‘ and ‘Best Male Newcomer’ awards respectively.

The AMI Awards Afrika (African Music Industry Awards) is a multi-cultural awards scheme with the purpose of honoring Africans Artists and Musicians, Arts and Cultures, Entertainment Humanitarian Acts, Entertainment Entrepreneurs and Creative Spirit of ordinary people who have captured audiences for generations and challenged our understanding through their arts and works.

AMI Awards Afrika will honor together with Schnaps Universe Inc. and the ESA Foundation the african artists and musicians, african arts and cultures, entertainment leaders, entertainment political figures, dignitaries, celebrities and stars who are pioneers in arts, music, fashion.
